Deck Used — The Nightmare Before Christmas
What gets you up in the morning? What drives you to be the best person you can be?
For the next six months, it’s time to go all in to reach your full potential. No more playing small. Like the Fool card, you can take the leap, but don’t be taken for a fool. Know your boundaries and your worth and stick to them. Whatever events come up right now are a preview of what’s to come once Jupiter goes into Aries next month, but more on that later. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries takes the initiative and chases their dreams. It doesn’t matter how long or how far, their belief in themselves and slight naiveté gets them what they want. They aim to be the best and are constantly lookingfor ways to improve themselves mind, body and soul. At times, people might get offended by their bold attitude, but regardless of how you feel about them, they always leave a mark, just ask Lady Gaga, a fellow Aries sun.

New moons are about beginnings, but in Aries, this is extra true because it happens to be the first new moon of the astrological year, which began on March 20th, during the Equinox. As mother nature begins to thaw from the harshness of winter in the Western Hemisphere, we’re filled with a sense of wonder of what’s next. What makes this one even more special is we also Mars, Venus, Juno and Saturn all in Aquarius. Saturn has been in revolutionary Aquarius since 2020, asking us to step up our game and learn to work together rather than against each other. When Mars is in that sign, it really packs a punch and calls for standing up for what’s right, even if it’s at the cost of your reputation, friends, or comfort zone. Aquarius doesn’t believe in a comfort zone, it’s all about growth and refining our skills. A conjunction between Mars and Saturn can either bring some frustration, or it will only create determination to push further. The choice is yours. Saturn is about mastery and if the goal is worth the effort, the work will pay off threefold. And when nothing comes, get to a gym. Giving up is not an answer.
With this new moon, the only harsh aspect involves Chiron conjunct the sun, moon and Mercury, which may cause some people to say things they don’t mean or for grudges to come up. Be on the lookout for anything in the news that’s aimed at feeding fears, or for any of your own fears that could hold you back from an otherwise wonderful opportunity. On the flip side, it’s also ideal for whistleblowers, so like Bob Marley said, “Before pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean.” Nobody is perfect and before saying something, make sure it’s because you want justice, not just because you want attention. You won’t get there faster by trampling on others. The further we get into the year, the more it’ll become obvious just how much people have been harming each other without even realizing it. Words can hurt, but they can also heal. Most importantly, within our communities. Communities need their people.

And I dislike saying it, but this is a politically charged new moon. If you think we can just ignore it, think again. We may hear something concerning Canada’s residential schools where proper apologies and justice have yet to be made. Another possibility is a surprise resignation of a leader, a standoff, or even protests. Ego issues are not uncommon with Aries transits, but when Chiron is involved, there is a price to pay. No one wants conflict, but nobody wants to be put in a corner either. Remember what happened at the Oscars?
As if that isn’t enough, this is also the period where Jupiter inches closer to Neptune, where it will form an exact conjunction during the second week of April. Jupiter is expansion, so for this new moon we might exagerate our perspective and be overly optimistic. There is also caution for going overboard in partying, money and escapism. The benefit of this conjunction, however, is it proves that really, magic is possible as long as you believe, so it’s definitely idea for law of attraction. If you’ve been working on something for awhile, expect this time to finally bring some results to fruition, and for some, maybe even fame or a surprise cheque. Just keep in mind that it isn’t about how many see your work, but whether your message is authentic. Riding off someone else’s outlook or ideas will cost you. “If you build it, they will come” is a good motto.
A lot of healing and recovery can result if only we learn to communicate. There is also a sense of urgency, like somehow time is speeding up and we won’t have the chance to accomplish everything. The key? Trust. The warrior in you has already done this before, only now you have even more experience under your belt. Are you up for the challenge?

Aries Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries First House)
Card: Seven of Pentacles — Element: Earth
Now isn’t the time to give into distractions like partying or flings, even if it means walking away from anyone who isn’t looking to level up. The Seven of Pentacles shows up when we’re in a period of focus and self-improvement. You may be feeling discouraged, like things aren’t moving fast enough, so consider taking up a new class or skill or better yet, you may be mentoring someone in your field who’s less experienced than you. Whatever it is, your status in the world is shifting, but in order to reach it, you need to be patient.
For Aries rising, this new moon is in your first house of self. You probably feel a bit overwhelmed, like the world is pulling you in different directions. The key is to focus on your truth, even if it means being a bit more private. Some won’t like the new you and that’s okay. A situation may come around that forces you to defend yourself, but this allows you to be an example for the people in your life.

Taurus Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Twelfth House)
Card: The Moon — Element: Water
Something is nudging at you. It doesn’t completely make sense, but your instinct is to follow. That’s your intuition talking. The Moon Card shows up when we’re asked to tune into our emotions and feminine side. It’s also important to let go of any subconscious fears that may be putting a damper on your progress. If you can feel it, you can create it. When looking at the card, Jack is staring at the moon, and right below are presents waiting for him. A present or blessing may be under your nose. Also be sure to nurture yourself, especially if you’ve been working a lot.
For Taurus rising, this new moon is in your twelfth house of dreams, hidden enemies and unconscious. Since Aries season already has you feeling psychic, if you have any hunches about something, count yourself right. On one hand, you may be feeling restless and unable to sleep, but on the other, you’re inspired to take action on a goal you’ve had for a long time. Be careful around people, as you may find out someone has been envious toward you. Chances are this person is really just all talk, so there’s no need to worry.

Gemini Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Eleventh House)
Card: The Star — Element: Air
Whether a wish comes true depends on how much faith you’re willing to put into it. The Star card shows up when we’re being asked to stand in our authenticity and think about the future we want. Things may not be what you expected and if so, is it due to expectations or because you’re not giving yourself a solid chance? You may also receive recognition for a project you worked on a long time ago, proof that work eventually does pay off.
For Gemini rising, this new moon is in your eleventh house of friendships, networking and wishes. There could be an argument in your circle or an exchange of ideas that inspires you to switch things up. You may have a friend or colleague who you’d like to get into business with. If this isn’t the case, it would be a good idea to join a gym or a sports team, since you’ll connect with someone important there.

Cancer Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Tenth House)
Card: The Devil — Element: Earth
You’re becoming aware of self-destructive habits or finding out the truth about a person in your surroundings. The Devil card shows up when we’re being tempted by something that may not be in our best interest, or it could also show a need to let loose a bit. Whatever the case, balance is called for. Being too focused on playing by the rules can be just as harmful as overindulgence.
For Cancer rising, this new moon is in your tenth house of career and legacy. Recently you could’ve experienced a failure or humiliation, and now is the chance to put yourself out there again. Better yet, you might have a delay in your career if there’s any attempt at making shortcuts to get ahead. If this involved you hurting another person, it’s time for an apology. If that isn’t the case, things between you and a father figure may be getting better.

Leo Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Ninth House)
Card: Queen of Pentacles — Element: Earth
You’re solidifying your reputation within your community. The Queen of Pentacles shows up when we’re in a place of stability and are ready to give back to others. It would be a good idea to use your skills in order to uplift your friends, or to consider volunteering for a charity. The Queen of Pentacles is abundant, not because she’s always hustling, but because she knows when to work and when to rest.
For Leo rising, this new moon is in your ninth house of travel and higher learning. Change is calling you. Any job opportunities or potential to travel will be very healing toward you. If travel isn’t on your list, then you may connect with someone online either romantically or for a project. This could also be you becoming a teacher for others in some way.

Virgo Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Eighth House)
Card: Six of Wands — Element: Fire
People are noticing your accomplishments and you’re feeling satisfied and appreciated. The Six of Wands shows up when we’re either being promoted, receiving an award, or are becoming more established in our field. People see you as reliable and someone they look up to. Just be wary not to take outside opinions seriously and be on the lookout for potential jealousy. Regardless, you’re spiritually protected at this time.
For Virgo rising, this new moon is in your eighth house of intimacy, rebirth and finances. More than other rising signs, there’s been a lot of heartbreak for you these past few years, and it’s safe to say that things are taking a turn for the better. You have the chance to not only connect with others on a deeper level, but you’re finally ready to share your gifts with the world. One idea in particular can lead you toward prosperity. Don’t be afraid to love again.

Libra Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Seventh House)
Card: Six of Cups — Element: Water
You’re feeling playful and liberated. The Six of Cups shows up when we’re in a period that allows us to connect with our inner child. Someone may come into your life who reminds you of your younger self, or who reminds you of the person you want to be. If there was a goal or dream you’ve wanted to work on for many years, you have the opportunity to collaborate with the right people and make it happen.
For Libra rising, this new moon is in your seventh house of partnerships and open enemies. You may not like it, but now you know who is on your side and who isn’t. This is your moment to be a whistleblower. Even though you’re typically the one to be diplomatic, you won’t be afraid to call people out if necessary. Your relationships are taking a turn for the better.

Scorpio Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Sixth House)
Card: The Fool (Reversed) — Element: Air
An area in your life feels a bit stuck right now and you’re unsure about which way to move forward. The Fool card shows up reversed when we’re hesitant about something. Perhaps there is a business idea or a new relationship starting around now, and you’re anxious about how it’s going to play out. Be patient with yourself but do take a chance. Baby steps still count as progress. Another possibility is being too rash in a situation, so keep in mind, there’s no need to rush.
For Scorpio rising, this new moon is in your sixth house of work, health and routine. This time period has you feeling rejuvenated and ready to take a leap of faith, but you could be challenged. Something about your everyday life has been holding you back, it could have to do with family or simply being overworked. Be sure to chill with a movie or a night out.

Sagittarius Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Fifth House)
Card: The Hanged Man — Element: Water
You’re being asked to look at a situation from a different perspective. The Hanged Man shows up when there is a delay. It can be a bit frustrating but trust that it’s for the best. You may be learning the truth about someone or gaining clarity about a past relationship. Whatever it is, avoid picking fights just for the sake of movement. No matter what things look like, they will work out. In the meantime, take up a sport or jogging to release any pent up energy.
For Sagittarius rising, this new moon is in your fifth house of fun, creativity, and romance. Don’t be afraid to go against the grain, especially in love. You could meet someone who either doesn’t fit your expectations or that your family might not exactly approve of. If love isn’t on your radar, this is simply a time of allowing yourself to have fun instead of taking life so seriously. Progress can happen another day.

Capricorn Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Fourth House)
Card: Justice — Element: Air
Don’t be afraid to speak your truth, even if it makes some people angry. The Justice card shows up when the scales of balance are coming in to right a wrong. You may have had a situation where a person scammed you or was abusive behind closed doors, and you’re ready to share that story. As long as you’re speaking from a place of honesty and vulnerability, it doesn’t matter what others think. Your voice could help someone.
For Capricorn rising, this new moon is in your fourth house of home, family and roots. You’re focused on healing old patterns especially when it comes to your mother or the women in your life. You may even decide that it’s time to sell your home or to travel somewhere that reminds you of your roots. There could even be a chance to make amends with a family member.

Aquarius Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Third House)
Card: Eight of Swords — Element: Air
You could be feeling stuck in a situation or overwhelmed with responsibilities right now. The Eight of Swords shows up when we’re feeling trapped by a situation that feels out of our control. In a way, perhaps you need to put you foot down and learn to say “no” to people. It’s also a period to evaluate the ways you might give your power. Wanting to be there for others is a good thing, but it shouldn’t be at the cost of your happiness.
For Aquarius rising, this new moon is in your third house of community, communications and siblings. Think twice about what you say to people in your surroundings, to avoid starting any feuds. Instead, write out on a piece of paper your feelings before talking it over. If you’re a writer, artist, or work in marketing, this is a good time to work on something that’s very personal and healing to you.

Pisces Sun, Moon and Rising (Aries Second House)
Card: The World — Element: Earth
You’ve reached the finish line and have accomplished something that you set out to do, whether big or small. The World card shows up when we’re between the old and the new, in a space where anything is possible. You have the world in your hands and have created something that will impact you for many years to come. However, if you are worried, it’s a good idea to ask yourself what you can do in order to feel more accomplished. Chances are you’re doing better than you think.
For Pisces rising, this new moon is in your second house of values and resources. At times, you worry that not having enough makes you less than others, and it’s a good moment to remember who the f you are. Success isn’t determined by material things or how much you make, it’s based on your impact in the world, and you’re ready to deliver.
